What is Char Cleaner?

Char Cleaner is a free online tool that removes unwanted characters from any text. Paste your text, type the characters you want to delete — quotes, exclamation marks, commas, symbols, anything — and the cleaned result appears instantly, ready to copy.

How to use it

1. Paste or type your text into the first box.
2. In "Characters to remove", type every character you want deleted, with no separators — for example "!,. removes double quotes, exclamation marks, commas and periods.
3. The result updates as you type. Click Copy to grab the cleaned text.

Common uses

• Strip quotes, brackets or punctuation from copied text
• Clean up data before pasting it into a spreadsheet

Frequently asked questions

Are the characters removed everywhere in the text?

Yes. Every occurrence of every character you list is deleted, no matter where it appears — start, middle or end of a word. Characters you did not list are left exactly as they were.

Can I remove spaces or line breaks with this tool?

You can remove spaces by typing a space in the character list. For line breaks and repeated whitespace the dedicated tools work better: try Remove Line Breaks or Remove Extra Spaces from the menu above.

Is there a length limit?

No practical one — the tool comfortably handles documents with hundreds of thousands of characters, and everything happens on your own device.

Is my text private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser — your text is never uploaded, logged or stored anywhere.
